This summer, immerse yourself in the Engolasters forest and discover a unique artistic installation. Along the Camí del Mig, around Lake Engolasters, you will find 70 hand-modelled clay faces emerging between the trunks of the pine trees.
The work The Guardians of the Lake, by artist Pilar Montecino, is inspired by one of Engolasters’ most mysterious legends, according to which the waters of the lake conceal an ancient settlement that was swallowed up by the water. Each face, made from natural clay and organic elements, blends into the landscape and invites you to discover the forest from a new perspective.
An ephemeral installation where art, nature and legend come together and which, over time, with the wind and rain, will once again become part of the landscape.
