Summer Nights at the Museums

From 08-07-2020 to 10-09-2020

Year after year, the Summer Nights at the Museums series offers a programme with an array of leisure and culture activities suited for young and old alike.

Once again, this year the Summer Nights are offering a whole host of activities for you to get to know our country's varied cultural heritage. Venues, museums, churches and other facilities become the settings for concerts, guided tours and dramatised tours, cinema sessions and concerts to while away the summer evenings. Cal Pal opens the programme on 15 July with the Duo Mozart from ONCA. The Nights will draw to a close on 10 September with the last guided tour of the 'Vinyl Art' exhibition at the Escaldes-Engordany Art Centre (CAEE).

As in previous years, the guided tours offer you an opportunity to discover various facilities through the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions on display. The National Automobile Museum (3 September); Cal Pal de la Cortinada (Estripagecs 21 July & 11 August). The Casa Rull Museum in Sispony (Cinto and Constança invite you to visit, 31 July & 7 August). Various churches are also taking part, including Santa Eulàlia in Encamp (27 July), Sant Romà in Les Bons (10 August); Santa Maria and Sant Romà in Vila (24 August) and Sant Miquel de la Mosquera (31 August), in the parish of Encamp.

Around the Engolasters hydroelectric route you'll find various activities, from guided and dramatised tours to observing meteor showers (12 August), live musical performances (Guitar Bellows, 21 July and the Odara Trio, 4 August) and storytelling featuring the legends of Engolasters (18 August).

The 'Museums in the Seventh Art' cinema series continues for another year, releasing some of the best museum and art-themed films ever made. At the Farga Rossell forge you can see 'Museo' (25 July) and 'Russian Ark' (4 August).

In the music section, as we mentioned above Duo Mozart are opening Nights at the Museums 2020, but they'll also perform in the square outside Santa Coloma church (18 July). The Columba Space will host a Pànic Escènic concert featuring swing dancing (23 July) and the gardens of the Casa d’Areny-Plandolit Museum will host an ONCA concert with a speed-painting competition (8 August).

Dramatised and guided tours are one of the activities that get the best reception at each edition of Summer Nights at the Museums. This year, you can sign up to discover unusual and little-known aspects of the villages of Santa Coloma ('La Santa, el Rus y el Comte' [the Saint, the Russian and the Count], 16, 23 and 30 July & 5, 12 and 19 August). There is also a dramatised tour of the old quarter of Andorra la Vella (18 and 25 July) and a literary tour (16 July). You can watch 'L’Anton Fiter i Rossell espera una visita' (Anton Fiter and Rossell are expecting a visit) in Andorra la Vella (8, 15, 22 and 29 August).

The Water Trail (CAEE, 21 July); the Art Trail (CAEE, 4 August) and the Engordany Trail (CAEE, 25 August) are all set in Escaldes-Engordany.
