One of the most interesting aspects is that these excursions are suitable for all the family, as the tracks available and guided outings cater to all levels of difficulty. Find out more here about how to do this type of Nordic skiing in Andorra and who organises it.
Cross-country skiing tracks in Naturland
The cross-country skiing tracks at Naturland are situated in the upper area of the center, at some 2,000 m above sea level. There you can try this variety of Nordic skiing either freely or accompanied by monitors. More than 15 kilometres of tracks of all colours start at the park service and catering area and head into the forest of La Rabassa. Visitors can enjoy this sport with either their own or rented equipment, as one of the stalls is happy to rent equipment at the entrance to the park.
Mountain skiing, or ski touring, is another form of cross-country skiing that you can enjoy at Naturland.
Snowshoes, another way to have fun
It mainly uses snowshoes, a comfortable way to get about that’s suitable for all ages. Visitors on snowshoes can safely reach the remotest corners of the forest in winter. Whatever the case, if you’re not too sure on your feet with this type of ski touring, or you prefer to be accompanied by expert instructors, Naturland organises guided outings: the professional staff know every nook and cranny of La Rabassa and will lead the way, offering interesting explanations as they go. This guided activity is not usually included in the general park entry price.
Naturland also offers special packages and seasonal promotions for snowshoe activities in combination with other services.
La Rabassa-Naturland Nordic Skiing Club
Naturland has invested heavily cross-country skiing. This investment is not limited to the winter activities on offer, as they also have their own Nordic Skiing Club. This sports club, specialising in cross-country and mountain disciplines, is one of the most prestigious in the Pyrenean area and trains the young and young at heart in this fun but challenging discipline. Thanks to its intensive, one-off courses, any tourist can rely on the monitors to learn or improve their skills on skis and snowshoes. Two- and three-day courses are organised on selected dates, such as Christmas weekends and bank holidays during the winter season.
