Most shops and shopping centres are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and until 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
During holiday periods (Easter, Carnival, etc.), some shops, stores and shopping centres stay open until 10 p.m. There are also shops that are closed all day on Sundays, or in the afternoon.
Shops in Andorra are only closed on four days of the year*.
*Tourist services (ski resorts, Caldea, Naturlandia, hotels, restaurants, service stations, etc.) stay open on these dates.
**If 14th March falls on a weekend or during a period when there is expected to be a high number of tourists, shops will remain open.
The Andorran border with France and Spain for the movement of travellers is open 24 hours a day.

Given that entry to Andorra is only possible through France or Spain, anyone who is not an EU national and is travelling to Andorra must check the visa requirements for entry to the Schengen area and, where necessary, apply for and obtain the necessary visas.

All pets, (dog, cat or animals of a similar size) entering Andorra must, by law, be identified with a microchip, be vaccinated against rabies and have a pet passport.

The Principality of Andorra has a high mountain Mediterranean climate, with cool summers and long, cold winters. The average annual temperature varies between 4.1°C in Sant Julià de Lòria (940 m) and -3.2°C at the summit of Comapedrosa (2,942 m), with maximum temperatures of between 17.1°C and 2.1°C, respectively. In terms of rainfall, it is generally abundant in spring and summer and can last until autumn. There is less rain in the winter, except for in the high and north-facing areas that are exposed to the Atlantic weather fronts that bring heavier snowfall.

Remember that in winter, from 1st November to 15th May, it is obligatory to carry snow chains or similar accessories in the car ready for use, unless snow or M/S tyres are fitted.

To reach Andorra by road, there are several international bus lines that can take you to the Principality from Spain and France. More information on buses can be found here.

Andorra Telecom is the only telecommunications operator in our country. So that you can stay in touch with family and friends during your visit, before you travel check that your mobile operator includes Andorra as part of your phone and data tariff.

Outdoor camping is prohibited below 2,000 m. It is only permitted around shelters at night-time and if the shelter is full.
