If you come to Ordino to go rock climbing, don’t miss the chance to discover the town as well. Its location, at the heart of an unspoilt and well preserved natural, high-mountain environment, gives it a special charm. It belongs to the parish of the same name and its average altitude is 1,300 metres. It’s in the north-west of the country, in the valley of Valira del Nord. It’s also worth noting that some of the highest peaks in Andorra, and the Pyrenees, for that matter, are in this parish: The Font Blanca, Serrera and Estanyó peaks, all of which are more than 2,900 metres high!
The town of Ordino, which has a population of 4,500 and is less than 9 km from the capital (Andorra la Vella), is the most important in the parish. It has plenty of sunshine throughout the summer and copious amounts of snow in winter. It offers a wide range of activities for the entire family, whether it’s sports or culture that you’re after. You’ll find a number of museums, such as the Postal Museum and the Museum of Miniatures. Additionally, Andorra’s Alpine and Travelling Film Festival is held yearly in Ordino and La Massana.
