The start is as the National Coach Station, at La Comella roundabout, where you will begin to climb up the streets of the industrial estate until you hit the GR. The GR climbs steeply through woods up to Coll de Palomera, where you turn left to reach Collada de la Caülla, an excellent spot to look out over the border with Catalonia.

From there, the road flattens out and becomes more comfortable, and you will soon reach the Refuge at Prat Primer, where you will ride up the somewhat noticeable Collada de Prat Primer, the highest point on the route. From the pass, you will enjoy a fantastic view of the route you have taken and in front of you, Estany de Basses Roges and at its feet the Claror Refuge, which you will come to via a rapid and comfortable descent.

The refuge is perfectly sited, dominating the Vall de Claror. With Madriu and Perafita, the valley is part of a Unesco Natural Heritage site. Continue to descend for a few metes to the headwaters of Claror where, without crossing the Riu de Claror at first, you turn left through the meadow, following the track. You cross the river on a wooden footbridge, rejoining the yellow marks and milestones, which you follow up to the head of the Vall de Perafita, where you rejoin the GR and start to descend along the river to Entremesaigües, a wooden structure that takes you back to the middle of the last century.

Follow the GR down to the La Comella road, and turn left without crossing the road and parallel it. Up and down paths will take you to La Comella refreshment stop, where you pick up the last section of rapid descent back to your starting point.
