This route through the shadiest part of the capital is ideal for a summer’s day, when it provides a refreshing break thanks to the protection of the Obaga forest in Andorra la Vella, the name of which means ‘shade’.

The route is signposted throughout, starting at the beginning of Camí de la Costa, although you can also start from the Prat Primer car park. It can also be done in the other direction, but the climbs are steeper. The four viewpoints are all accessed via quiet forest paths and trails in the Obaga forest in Andorra la Vella.

The first viewpoint, Roc dels Senders, is just over 20 minutes from the start at the car park in Serradells. The path continues on to the Bosc Negre forest, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the whole Andorra la Vella valley. Along the Camí de la Palomera is one of the most attractive parts of the route, which passes through a magical and enchanting hazelnut forest and takes you to Roc de Palomera viewpoint (1,660 m), the highest point on the route.

For your safety, we recommend doing all routes above 1700 metres between the end of June and the end of September. Weather and terrain conditions permitting, however, the season can run from May to October.

You'll find more details about this and other routes in the Trails of Andorra Hiking Guide.
