To get a breath of fresh air right next to the city centre, you can take this short walk to the small village of Vilars and visit its church, which is dedicated to St Romà and dates from the 10th century.

On the way there, you will pass through vegetable gardens, tobacco fields and sheepfolds called Bordes. You may have the chance to see the wood pigeon, which is a greyish-coloured wild pigeon with a tail that ends in a black fringe.

Start by taking the de la Salita path to the left or right of the Pouader car park, opposite the Parc de la Mola square, which is next to the Caldea wellness leisure centre (N42 30.666 E1 32.357).

Once you have crossed Pessebre avenue, take the Font del Pui path to the church of St Jaume, built in 1992, then the Vilars stone path which will take you to the village of Vilars and its church.
