The start of the Camí dels Estanys Forcats is above the village of Arinsal, at the picnic area at the foot of the Torrent Ribal, where the asphalted road ends. We start by following the forest track to the Borda de les Agunes. As we climb, we will enjoy pretty views of the village of Arinsal and the valley of La Massana.
Once at the Pla de l’Estany, we will continue along the path of the Costa del Congost towards the Port Dret River, passing Les Balmes and Racofred peak where we will have fantastic views of the Circ del Pla de l’Estany, and can stop to rest. Further on, the scenery turns rough and full of screes, and we come to els Estanys Forcats (2,626 alt.), where the climb finishes. We return by the same route.
The route starts in the village of Arinsal at the end of the asphalted road (42° 34' 41",1° 28' 43").
For your safety, we recommend you do the routes at altitudes of over 1,700 metres between the end of June and the end of September. However, if the weather and terrain conditions allow it, the season may extend from May to October.
You will find further details of this and other routes in the Hiking guide Trails of Andorra.
