Andorra Land Art 2019

Del June 14al September 14

Andorra Land Art 2019 revolves around “Shinrin-Yoku”, the Japanese practice of “forest bathing” and uses Lake Engolasters as a unique backdrop.

The 3rd biennial Andorra Land Art continues its mission to disseminate and highlight the cultural and natural heritage of the Principality that commenced in previous editions, following the postulations of this movement that closely bind artistic creation and the landscape where the artwork is installed. This year, the leitmotif of the works presented will be “Shinrin-Yoku”, the Japanese practice of “forest bathing”.

To facilitate the discovery by the visitors, all the pieces of art by the forty or so participating artists will all be located in a single physical space at Lake Engolasters, and specifically in the FEDA facilities. This location provides added value to the exhibition given that some of its areas have never been open to the public.

A total of 17 nationalities hailing from Europe, North America and Australia, are participating in Andorra Land Art 2019, but of particular note is the presence of Jean-Paul Bourdier, photographer and professor of architecture, photography and visual studies at the University of California, in Berkeley, whose work explores the relationship between the human body and nature. At ALA 2019, Bourdier will exhibit a selection of large format images.

Dates: from 14 June to 14 September 2019.

Location: Lake Engolasters (Escaldes-Engordany).

All Andorra Land Art activities are free and open to all members of the public.
