Shopping all year round

Andorra offers unique, attractive shopping opportunities

Do you like shopping?

Retail has always been one of the country’s driving forces. Over time, we have adapted to the newest fashions and trends to make sure we always have the latest items available.

With a view to continuing to offer you the best of the best, Andorra holds many unique events, so that you can have the best shopping experience throughout the entire year. These include everything from medieval fairs to traditional markets and local celebrations with the best artisanal items and products the country has to offer, to unique events featuring the latest trends. Check out the calendar, which you can download by following this link.

SHOP IN ANDORRA FESTIVAL

There’s no doubt that the major shopping event in our country is the Andorra Shopping Festival. When autumn arrives, the main streets and commercial areas throughout the country burst with colour, presenting new items and the latest fashion trends. It’s an event with activities for everyone and includes children’s entertainment, live music and cuisine, as it coincides with Andorra a Taula, the Principality’s food event.

Christmas markets and fairs

If you visit us during the holidays, you can’t miss out on the Christmas markets and fairs held in different places within our small country. The streets are filled with magic and a thousand colours to welcome the most eagerly awaited festival of the year, especially for the youngest members of the family.
In Andorra we also like to celebrate the holidays, and we do so in style – no holds barred!

The Christmas Market in Andorra la Vella

Andorra la Vella, the capital, becomes a Christmas Village, the heart of which is the unique Christmas Market. With its wooden huts, atmosphere and music, it will transport you north, to the home of Santa Claus. You'll find stalls of all kinds, ranging from artisanal gold items to products to decorate your home. You can select the perfect gifts for your loved ones. You can also buy local food products as well as enjoying numerous shows, live music and activities for the youngest members of the family!

Craftsmanship, tastings and music in Escaldes-Engordany

Coming to Escaldes-Engordany is Tastes of Advent, a unique Christmas market where, from the beginning to the middle of December, you can also sample dishes created by the best local chefs against a backdrop of live music and traditional craft stalls.

Santa Llúcia Fair

One celebration that cannot be missed year on year is the traditional Santa Llúcia Fair. Although the Feast of Saint Lucy is celebrated on December 13, the fair is usually extended until Christmas. Encamp, Ordino and Sant Julià de Lòria are home to a large number of stalls offering all kinds of items to decorate and liven up your home.

Don’t miss the key dates

As part of Andorra’s wide and varied commercial offering, there are a few dates that you must mark on your calendar so as not to miss the best shopping opportunities of each season. These are the sales that take place every year. In both summer and winter, the retail sector shakes up the country with the amazing discounts it offers. From the end of June to the beginning of September, summer’s hottest sales take place. And from late December to early March, the winter sales campaign (which spans from February to mid-April) is extended to include winter clothes and sports equipment. Another date to remember for significant discounts is Black Friday, an international campaign in which numerous commercial establishments from all over Andorra participate.

You can find more bargains at Vide Dressing in La Massana, the country’s leading second-hand clothes and accessories fair, which is held in both spring and autumn, so you can update your wardrobe as the seasons change. The second event in the autumn, which is usually held during the month of November, is dedicated to sports equipment and material under the name Videsport.

Shopping for feeling good inside and out

Unique events are held throughout the year, combining shopping with other activities to offer a different and attractive experience for all kinds of audiences and ages. In July, La Massana plays host to La Serenalla Market, a multidisciplinary event that seeks to promote personal well-being and sustainability. There, you can buy natural products, relax, take part in creative workshops or taste local food products, among other activities, all while enjoying live music. Also in the parish of La Massana, between the end of September and the beginning of October Arinsal hosts La Pitavola del Comapedrosa, a popular festival that celebrates the creation of the nature park of the same name. There, you will find a market offering local products and various activities and workshops that celebrate and showcase the nature park, along with a nocturnal culinary route.

Fairs and traditional markets

One of the best examples of a traditional market is the Mercat de la Vall d’Andorra, which takes place on the first Saturday of each month from May to October in the old town of Andorra la Vella. You'll find creative crafts, natural cosmetics and local culinary products, among others.

Travel back in time

Held every September, the Sant Julià de Lòria Medieval Festival transforms the town’s centre into a market that’s straight out of the Middle Ages. In the stalls and streets decorated for the occasion, you'll find handmade jewellery, clothing and crafts that range from home-made jams, cheeses and sausages, to sweets of all kinds that are sure to make your mouth water! Music from the period and a number of fun activities and workshops make this medieval village ideal for the whole family.

Other events

Mention should also be made of a couple of specialist events that have become a key part of the calendar in Andorra. There’s Andoflora, the fair-market dedicated to plants and flowers, which takes place every year in La Massana in the middle of May.

On top of that...

Andorra la Vella brings together fans of two-wheeled vehicles during Motand, the festival that revolves around motorcycles and all their accessories and equipment. It combines shopping opportunities with classic bike exhibitions, displays of skill, tours, music and children’s activities.

Come and have a wonderful shopping experience in Andorra!
