The Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley, a benchmark of our natural heritage, is part of the UNESCO World Heritage list as a cultural landscape. From the Portal de la Vall, activities, talks and workshops are organised for anyone who wants to discover this unique area and the stories that have shaped it.

From spring to autumn, enjoy the valleys and mountains that make up this natural environment. Join the guided walks and workshops: there are options for all ages.

Workshops and activities
• 14/05. Talk “The VMPC landscape: the interaction of climate and geology”. A visual presentation on the evolution of the geological, climatic and human events that have shaped the valley as we know it today. In collaboration with Meteo Pirineus.
• 21/05. Biodiversity workshop. A dynamic activity to discover the country’s flora and fauna through a memory game. In collaboration with Andorra Sostenible.
• Date to be confirmed. Workshop/guided walk with photographer “Observing the landscape”, with Sergi Flamand to capture the human elements of the territory and Oliver Kinchella to learn how to photograph its essence.
• Date to be confirmed. Family activity: Transhumance Festival + talk. In collaboration with the Comú of Sant Julià de Lòria, including the talk “Mountain livestock farming and the shaping of the Pyrenean landscape”.
• 20/06. Tales and legends. An interactive musical and theatrical performance about the stories of the valley, with Ivan Caro.
• 15/07. Talk “Cooking the landscape: when the territory becomes an ingredient”. Discover how to interpret the landscape through gastronomy, local products and traditional knowledge. Includes a tasting of local products, in collaboration with Restaurant Les Pardines.
• 08/10. Talk “Wool as a landscape resource: Vital Pirineus and local transformation”. Discover the value of wool in preserving the landscape.
• 10/10. Wool felting workshop and traditional uses. A practical and creative activity to rediscover traditions.

Themed outings
• 30/05. Guided walk “Discover the flora of the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley”. An activity for all audiences to explore the valley’s flora and learn how to identify it using AI tools and citizen science.
• 06/06. Ethnobotany walk. A route to identify plants and learn about their traditional uses, with Manel Niell, biologist at Andorra Research + Innovation.
• 11/07. Guided walk “Discovering the glacial past of the Madriu Valley”. Route from Naturland to high mountain areas, approximately 14 km with 700 m of elevation gain. Recommended for people used to hiking in the mountains. Interpretation of glacial influence and landscape formation.
