On 27 October, Andorra la Vella hosts the 47th Andorra Livestock Fair and Competition, one of the most deeply rooted events in the country’s farming calendar. Organised by the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, in collaboration with the Association of Farmers and Livestock Breeders, the fair brings together a showcase of Andorra’s finest cattle, horses and sheep at the Prada Casadet car park.

The day gets off to an early start, from 6 to 9 am, with the arrival of the animals at the fairground. At 11.30 am comes one of the most eagerly awaited moments: the auction of certified yearling calves of the Andorran Brown breed, a symbol of the country’s livestock farming. And at 1 pm, the prize-giving ceremony brings the competition to a close, honouring the hard work and dedication of the farming families.
