John Williams is held in high regard in the world of film. He is one of the most prestigious composers of the seventh art, considered the architect of the revival of symphonic soundtracks with one of his principal works, the soundtrack for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977). His work on Star Wars, ET, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Superman, Jaws, Jurassic Park and Schindler's List have turned him into one of the most widely recognised soundtrack composers in the world and the recipient of some of the most prestigious awards. Five Academy Awards and 53 nominations are undeniable proof of this, making him the individual with the most nominations of all time. Williams's film scores have accompanied several generations of viewers. With an orchestral performance by the Franz Schubert Filharmonia, we will take a trip down memory lane and enjoy his masterpieces in this free evening concert in the unrivalled surroundings of Santa Coloma car park.

Franz Schubert Filharmonia

The symphony orchestra – made up of distinguished musicians and directors – promises artistic quality of the highest order and ever-relevant musical performances. Led today by Tomàs Grau, the ensemble has collaborated with internationally renowned artists in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the National Music Auditorium in Madrid and Barcelona's Palau de la Música Catalana.

"Inspired and with great feeling" are the words that best define Tomàs Grau. The Franz Schubert Filharmonia's chief conductor and artistic director studied music at the Municipal Conservatory of Music in Barcelona before specialising in orchestra conducting at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya and at the Wiener Meisterkurse in Vienna.
