The Christmas Village is the centre of traditional Yuletide activities in the Principality’s capital.

Turning on the Christmas lights

The switching on of the parish’s Christmas lights will mark the official beginning of the many activities and events marking Christmas in the capital city of the Principality, and will take place on Friday 29 November at 6 p.m.

Let yourself be swept away by the magic of Christmas, which will fill the streets and squares of Andorra la Vella with wonderful events and activities such as the Christmas Market, a digital light tunnel, a Magical Post Office to receive children's Christmas letters, a synthetic ice toboggan, an ice rink, the “Cagatió” Christmas Log and many more surprises, which you can discover by clicking here.

Father Christmas comes to town

Like every year, Father Christmas will visit the children on the afternoon of 24 December, Christmas Eve. At 4 p.m., Father Christmas and his sleigh will parade through La Margineda and Santa Coloma.

In Andorra la Vella, the parade will kick off at 5 p.m. from Carrer de la Unió, and will pass along Av. Meritxell, Rotonda, Av. Meritxell, Carrer les Canals, Carrer Mn. Tremosa, Carrer Mn. Cinto Verdaguer, Plaça Guillemó, Carrer Dr. Nequi and Carrer Príncep Benlloch. It will finally arrive at Plaça del Poble around 6 p.m., and there, Father Christmas will greet the children and collect their letters.

Midnight mass

Midnight mass will be held in Sant Esteve Church in Andorra la Vella and Santa Coloma Church. After the service, churchgoers can enjoy the traditional refreshments of cake, hot chocolate and muscatel wine on the Rambla Molines in Andorra la Vella and Plaça Major in Santa Coloma.
