Andorra Swimrun

12 August - 12 August

Swimrun, the competition that combines cross-country running with swimming, is coming to Andorra.

This summer, Andorra is welcoming a new sports discipline: the Swimrun. This challenge, which combines cross-country running with swimming, will take place in Coma d’Arcalís, Ordino, in mid-August.

For this 1st edition, there are two races on the programme: The Andorra Swimrun Long, at 17 km, and the Andorra Swimrun Short, at 10.8 km, both of which start and finish at Coma d’Arcalís.

In keeping with the spirit of its original rules, the Andorra Swimrun is contested in teams of two, with three categories: men’s, women’s and mixed. The challenge is part of the Head Swimrun Series by Garmin.

The Swimrun was born from a bet in Sweden in the early 2000s. Since 2006, on the same archipelago near Stockholm where the first race took place, the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Championship, one of the toughest races in the world, has been organised every year. This discipline, which requires speed, endurance and tactics, has continued to grow ever since.

Location and date: Coma d’Arcalís, Ordino, Sunday 12 August.

Organisation, information and registration:  Andorra Swimrun.
