GUIDED TOURS OF ANDORRA LA VELLA - SUMMER 2019

Del 5 июля al 7 сентября

Let a guide help you discover the best-kept secrets of the Principality’s capital and its surroundings with 11 summer tours.

From July to early September, Andorra la Vella is offering a range of guided tours, based around three focuses: tradition and culture; dramatised tours; and nature tours, which will allow you to discover the history and traditions of our culture that are hidden in the streets and squares of the capital, as well as the parish’s natural spaces.

The ‘Historic Centre’ tour will lead you through the alleyways and small squares of the capital’s old quarter, which has been able to preserve its architectural style and secrets over time.

The Archpriest Church of Sant Esteve is the setting for ‘Music in the Historic Centre’, where you’ll be able to attend the morning organ recitals.

‘Tradition and Culture’ will allow you to discover the valley and village of Santa Coloma, where you’ll visit its iconic Pre-Romanesque church, featuring a circular bell tower, and the medieval site of Roureda de la Margineda. The tour includes the Columba Space, where the original wall paintings are preserved as well as a video mapped version in their original location.

There are two dramatised tours of the Old Quarter: ‘Journey through History and Legends’, where characters fleeing from the authorities will reveal the secrets and legends they conceal, and also ‘Don Francisco de Zamora’, centred on a Spanish judge, writer and traveller, who will take you back to 18th-century Andorra. Santa Coloma is also the setting for ‘The Saint, the Russian and the Count’, where three characters will bring you to some of the most fascinating moments in our history.

If you prefer to get away from the urban environment, you can do the ‘Green Lung of the City’ tour, which is part of Andorra la Vella’s Anella Verda nature path project. If you’d like to venture up the mountains, sign up for the nature tours that explore the Enclar Valley and Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape. With the ‘L’Obaga Viewpoints’ route, you’ll be able to enjoy amazing views of Andorra la Vella from different points. For something a bit different, try the ‘Open Geology Museum – Rocks in the Street’ tour, which will show you the parish’s geological setting and its mark on the architecture of the capital.
