04 de March - 05 de March
The Andorra Opera Season presents Verdi's “La Traviata” on the stage of the Claror Auditorium with two shows, on the first weekend of March.
“La Traviata” the three-act opera of Giuseppe Verdi inspired by the “The Lady of the Camellias” of Alexandre Dumas (son), is the works selected by the Lyrical Association of Andorra to be produced within the framework of the Andorra Opera Season. There will be two large-scale productions on the 4th and 5th of March, which will include a dozen solo singers, live piano, the Cambra de les Valls d’Andorra Choir, Petits Cantors Choir and Esbart Lauredià.
The cast includes leading roles with soprano Jonaina Salvador (Violetta Valery), tenor Alain Damas (Alfredo Germont), baratone Otar Nakashidze (Goirgio Germont), mezzo soprano Marta Knör (Flora Bervoix ) and tenor Luis Alberto Canet (Gastone), among others.
“La Traviata” is a piece of a realistic nature which had an unsuccessful première in La Fenice theatre in Venice (1853). However, over time diverse rearrangements have made it become one of the great works forming part of standard operatic repertoire, to the point where it became the most produced opera around the world during the 2007-2012 period.
