Grandvalira in Andorra is the biggest ski resort in the Pyrenees and Southern Europe. It has more than 200 km and offers a range of hotels at the foot of the slopes.

Grandvalira is Andorra’s largest ski resort. That, in a country nestled in the heart of the Pyrenees, is really something and means some very large distances. It covers a total of 215 km when the resort’s different sectors are added together. It is southern Europe’s largest ski area!

Grandvalira also offers numerous outstanding services to skiers and to pedestrians, as well as a host of fun snow activities that involve neither skis nor a snowboard. The skiable area is divided into 7 sectors: these are Canillo, Soldeu, Pas de la Casa, Encamp, El Tarter, El Peretol and Grau Roig. It can be reached via several points between Encamp and Pas de la Casa. Access at most points is adapted for people with disabilities.

Among the many services on offer at the resort are equipment hire stores, a reservations centre, restaurants, snack bars, terraces and barbecues, a Wi-Fi zone, snowparks, kids’ trails, baby clubs, crèches and a variety of snow-based activities for non-skiers...

Slopes and sectors

Grandvalira has 7 sectors, located at different distances and connected to one another not only by road, but also through the heart of the mountains. The sectors are Canillo, Soldeu, Pas de la Casa, Encamp, El Tarter, El Peretol and Grau Roig. Together, they boast a ski area of 215 km and 140 slopes, each categorised by difficulty level: 24 are green, 54 blue, 44 red and 18 black.

There are also freeride zones in all sectors (except for Peretol), snowparks and ski mountaineering circuits. Grandvalira can therefore be described as 7 resorts in one, as each sector has its own appeal.

Special mention should be made of the children’s slopes, enlivened by friendly animals and fantasy figures to make kids feel protected during their first days of skiing. Examples are Kids Forest, divided among three sectors (Grau Roig, Encamp, Pas de la Casa), Bababoom Circus (El Tarter) and Yokai (Soldeu). Each sector of Grandvalira has its own access points.

Grandvalira Resorts Andorra

With the recent addition of the Ordino Arcalís and Pal Arinsal ski resorts to Grandvalira, Grandvalira Resorts Andorra was born, a skiable domain that covers more than 300 km (Ordino Arcalís with 30.5 km, Pal Arinsal with 63 km and Grandvalira with 215 km), offering its guests a world of benefits. From now on, a sole season-long Andorra Pass will allow unrestricted movement around southern Europe’s largest ski area.

Ski passes and tickets

Request further information from Grandvalira directly and choose the pass that’s best for you.

Andorra Pass: a single pass for the entire ski area

This exclusive pass offers access to all the area’s ski resorts and ski lifts, both in the winter and summer seasons, to over 60 km of track at the Pal Arinsal Bike Park, and to the Grandvalira e-bike park. Access to the Bike Park is only included with the season pass.

Although the pass is annual (for the entire season), if you only require access during your holiday, you may purchase a 1-day pass or a half-day pass (either mornings or afternoons). There are also options for different skier levels, which include a beginner’s pass. Visitors who do not intend to ski can purchase a pedestrian pass, which includes two upward and downward journeys by cable car during the day. Lastly, all prices vary according to age. Categories are adult, baby (born in 2018 or later), junior from 12 to 17 years old, child from 6 to 11 years old, senior over the age of 65, and senior gold for adults born before 1948.

Mountain Pass: ski mountaineering at all the resorts

If cross-country skiing is your activity of choice, then the Mountain Pass is the perfect option for you. With this global pass, you'll be able to practice skimo or snowshoeing at all of the resorts in the Principality: Grandvalira, Ordino Arcalís, Pal Arinsal and Naturland, you decide!  In addition, this pass also allows you to use some of the resorts’ ski lifts, with one cable car return trip per day and per lift included, while you’ll also be granted access to special routes designed just for this activity.

Finally, in addition to the usual day passes, Grandvalira also offers a wide range of packages and multi-day passes, with special prices that can include accommodation and other services.

And now, for greater convenience, you can top up your pass. You can book one with your purchase and have it sent to your home.

Activities at Grandvalira

One of the activities on offer at Grandvalira is mushing, or skiing by dog sled. Snowshoeing, on the other hand, is a fun, safe and enjoyable activity for participants of all ages! We have routes suitable for all experience levels and, for beginners in the activity, no training or lessons are required, so you can get stuck in right from the start! Our routes are very flexible and allow you to choose your own difficulty level and duration, according to your own personal ability and preference. You can also choose to go on a route together with a guide, or on your own. There are plenty of guides available in the area. Do check our comprehensive listings guide to active tourism companies and organisations at the following link.

Bars and restaurants

Restaurants to suit all tastes are also available at the resort. There are around 60 premises offering everything from self-service to table-service, “good fast food” and dinners in the mountains.

And if you want to have a drink while enjoying the best views, don't miss the most gastronomic terraces of the winter!

Opening hours

The opening dates for Grandvalira vary each year according to the amount of snow on the slopes. There may also be differences from one sector to another. The season generally starts during December and continues well into spring (April or May).

Before you set off, ideally while planning your ski holiday, do make sure you double check the weather forecast for your specific travel dates, to avoid any surprises. We also recommend checking the opening times, current status and latest news of the ski slopes at Grandvalira while planning your trip.
