Voor meer informatie
Youngsters have a range of new custom trails to choose from, allowing them to get a taste for hiking and get close to nature, alongside their families of course.
The Little Magical Trails that comprise this new activity are all short, easy and circular paths. As their name suggests, the trails are full of magic to stimulate the imagination (which is, after all, the most powerful toy) and motivate the children with a series of activities and hidden things to find around the circuit.
There's much more in store for you this summer!
'Piero and Queen Pitavola'
Located near the village of Ordino, this route invites you to become a butterfly for a day. Ideal for learning about the habitat of this insect, its life cycle and the most common species in the natural environment of Andorra.
‘The Menairons’ Forest’
On this route in the parish of La Massana, you can explore the fantastical world of these mythical creatures that live in Andorra’s forests.
‘Where Are the Mushrooms?’
This route is located in the parish of Canillo and, as you go, adults and children alike will discover the most common types of mushrooms in Andorra.
“Quela the witch's potion”
This route is located in Escaldes-Engordany parish and teaches you a bit about the legends and beliefs surrounding witches in the country.
“Tracks and footprints”
Located in Els Cortals d’Encamp, this route will take you deep into the habitat of seven of our mountains’ most characteristic animals. Learn to recognize the tracks and footprints they leave in their habitat.
To help families complete the Macarulla trails, there’s an activity guide with the full story of the magical trail you’re doing. The guide also tells you about the nature around the chosen trail, including flora and fauna, in addition to telling you about popular Andorran beliefs.
An added value of the Macarulla Little Magical Trails is that the various elements of the journey, i.e. the games and surprises hidden along each route, were designed and made by local artists and craftspeople. Noble materials that are respectful of the natural environment, such as wood, iron and stone, are all fully integrated into the landscape.
At the Tourist Information Offices you can find the notebooks (1€) to help families discover the Macarulla Little Magical Trails. Once you’ve completed your route, you can also download a certificate to show that you’re one of the ‘Macarulles’.
Stay tuned, because the network of Little Magical Trails will be expanding soon!
The Macarulla routes run along mountain paths, so you should always wear suitable footwear and clothing, as well as taking the necessary precautions, especially for children's safety.
