To reach the vantage point on the Les Fonts Circuit, take the CS-200 up from Escaldes-Engordany to Sant Miquel d'Engolasters. After passing the church and the plain, continue upwards toward the lake. You'll find the car park for the Les Fonts Circuit 500 m before you reach the lake, on the inside of a bend. From this point, the walk up to the vantage point takes 15 minutes.
It is a flat path, surrounded by a red pine forest, with undergrowth consisting of alpenroses, blueberries, box trees and junipers, among other species.
With regards the fauna, among the bird species you can hear and, with patience and a little luck, see are the crested tit, goldcrest, chaffinch and short-toed tree-creeper. Among the mammals, squirrels are easy to spot, along with fox tracks.
In the summer and autumn you can taste wild fruits, such as strawberries, raspberries and bilberries, always being careful to identify them properly.
You will find more information about this and other guided walking routes in the Andorra Mountain Guide.
