The first stop on the route takes us to Canillo, where we make our way up to the vantage point of Roc del Quer. Located at an altitude of 2,000 metres, it offers spectacular views over the valleys of Montaup and Canillo, the peak of Casamanya (2,740 m) and the traditional rural dwellings known as bordes that can be found throughout the region.
We will then visit the Sanctuary of Meritxell Basilica, consecrated to Our Lady of Meritxell, patron saint of Andorra. The basilica is the work of prestigious Catalan architect Ricard Bofill.
After Meritxell, we will head to the parish of Encamp, where we can enjoy a stroll around the old town centre and visit the Church of Sant Miquel de La Mosquera. The church, whose date of construction is unknown, boasts a main altar with an altarpiece that dates back to the end of the 16th century, dedicated to the Archangel Saint Michael and Saint John the Baptist, both of whom are patron saints of the municipality of La Mosquera.
After enjoying this area of natural beauty, we make our way back to Escaldes-Engordany and Andorra la Vella, where the route ends.
On the tour you will be accompanied at all times by a tourist guide who speaks Catalan, Spanish, French and English.
Route 4: every Thursday morning from 1 June to 31 October.
