El Amor Brujo, one of the most fascinating and emblematic works by Manuel de Falla, will be the concert that opens the 4th edition of the ClàssicAnd Festival, during which the full programme will be presented and which will mark the reopening of the National Auditorium of Andorra, in Ordino.
This special evening, scheduled for Saturday, 28 February 2026 at 8:00 pm, will bring together the National Classical Orchestra of Andorra under the musical direction of the prestigious maestro Josep Caballé Domènech, with the distinguished participation of Carmen Linares, one of the great voices of contemporary flamenco.
The programme will offer a rich and varied journey through different styles and periods, combining widely popular pieces with moments of musical discovery. It will begin with a divertimento by Albert Gumí, a tribute to G. Claret, and continue with excerpts from Suite No. 1 from Carmen by Georges Bizet, including the famous Seguidilla and The Dragons of Alcalá.
The audience will also hear the sensual Habanera by Emmanuel Chabrier, as well as three dances and the celebrated O Fortuna from the monumental Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. The programme also includes the Sinfonia from Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda by Claudio Monteverdi, the Pulcinella Suite by Igor Stravinsky and the overture to Ouverture, Scherzo and Finale, Op. 52 by Robert Schumann. The first half will conclude with the delicate Vocalise, Op. 34 No. 14 by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
The second half will feature a complete performance of El amor brujo by Manuel de Falla. This masterpiece, with its scenes full of mystery, passion and rhythmic power, includes such well-known moments as the Ritual Fire Dance, intended to ward off evil spirits, as well as the Song of the Will-o’-the-Wisp and the evocative finale, The Bells of Dawn.
