The Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany Carnival is one of the most popular and eagerly awaited celebrations in Andorra’s festive calendar. For several days, the streets come alive with parades, family shows, traditional food and classic events such as the hanging, trial and burning of the Carnestoltes. The main parade with a troupes and choreography competition, the popular calçotada and children’s activities make this carnival a must for all audiences.

Programme 2026

Friday 13 February
7 pm. Extravagant catwalk, led by the Xtravaganxa entertainment group.
Speech and hanging of the Carnestoltes at 97 Meritxell Avenue.

Saturday 14 February
6 pm. Grand Carnival parade enlivened by the Bloco Sambara batucada.
Troupes and choreography competition.
Meet at Parc de la Mola in Escaldes-Engordany at 5 pm.
Route: Parc de la Mola – Constitució St – Carlemany Ave – Meritxell Ave – arrival at Plaça del Poble.

At the end, a botifarrada for participants at Plaça del Poble and the closing party at the Auditorium of the Andorra la Vella Congress Centre, featuring performances by the troupes entered in the competition. Before the end of the party, the winning troupes will be announced and prizes awarded.

Monday 16 February
5 pm. Children’s show Festa sobre rodes, by Cia. Més Tumacat, at Plaça de l’Església in Escaldes-Engordany. Come in fancy dress, enjoy the party and a tasty afternoon snack.

Tuesday 17 February
7 pm. Trial of the Carnestoltes with the Xtravaganxa entertainment group.
Performances by Esbart Santa Anna of Escaldes-Engordany and Esbart Dansaire of Andorra la Vella.

7.30 pm. Burning of the Carnestoltes at Plaça Coprínceps in Escaldes-Engordany, followed by a snack of tomato bread and Andorran cured meats for everyone.

Sunday 22 February
1.30 pm. Popular calçotada in Carrer dels Veedors in Escaldes-Engordany.
Ticket price: €8.00 (calçots, sauce, botifarra, bread, drink and bib). Tickets on sale on the day. Organised by: Unió Pro-Turisme d’Escaldes-Engordany.
