In summer Ordino Arcalís offers you various activities to enjoy the season. Panoramic views, mountain hikes, tasting of local products and much more.

The first thing you should bear in mind when planning your visit is that access by car to Coma de Arcalís is closed to encourage cycling and hikers. It can only be accessed via the Tristaina cable car (although you can always go up with your car before the road closes).

Summer 2024 Coma d’Arcalís road closure schedule
- From June 1 to 21, closed on the weekend.
- From June 22 to September 15, closed every day.
- From September 16 to November 3, closed on the weekend.
This ban on motor vehicles on the road toward Coma del Forat is applicable from kilometer point 1.800 on C.S. 380 (L’Hortell area) from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tristaina cable car: a panoramic walk
Located in L'Hortell, this is one of the many attractions available at the resort in summer. With a journey lasting just over 5 minutes, it connects the Hortell area with Coma del Forat. There you will find the starting point of some of the most iconic hiking trails in the area, such as the excursion to the lakes of Tristaina, as well as access to another of the resort’s top attractions: the Tristaina solar viewpoint.

Tristaina solar viewpoint
At an altitude of 2701 m, and located at the highest point of the peak of Peyreguils, you will find one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Andorra: the Tristaina solar viewpoint! Not only is it one of the tallest peaks in the country, but it also has the added feature of being a sundial! To access the viewpoint you can do so on foot or by getting a special resort pass that combines the Tristaina cable car and the Creussants chairlift. We recommend wearing outdoor clothing and footwear, as despite taking the cable cars, you will have to walk about 15–20 minutes in the mountains.

If you enjoy walks in the mountains and enjoying stunning natural landscapes, you should know that Ordino Arcalís has numerous hiking routes, adapted to suit all skill levels. Here are two of the most popular options:

  • Creussans lake

Lasting 2 hours, this route will allow you to discover some of the most unique landscapes in the country. If travelling with family, this route is perfect as it is suitable for both the elderly and children, with a total elevation gain of just 220 m. The route starts at the end of Carretera d’Arcalís, where you should follow the path that borders the river until you reach the lake.

  • Verdaguer Route

The Verdaguer Route begins just by the Creussans chairlift. The route is unique as it is a descending path that stops at various points of interest, such as the church of Sant Pere del Serrat or Llorts Mine, among others, ending in the village of La Cortinada. This route is difficult and covers about 15.2 km. Finally, visitors should note that they will find information panels throughout.

Dining in Ordino Arcalís
The resort has the Coma Restaurant, where you can enjoy typical high mountain dishes, such as rice dishes, grilled meats and local sausages, as well as other varied dishes such as pizzas and pies. The Coma Xirixucas terrace offers fast food with hamburgers and local sandwiches to suit all tastes.
Located in a privileged spot in the Sorteny Valley Natural Park, you will also find the restaurant Refugi de Sorteny, which offers a menu with fresh and local products.

Tickets and passes
To access the Ordino Arcalís resort there are many options available. You can take out the exclusive pedestrian pass that includes an ascent and descent using the Tristaina cable car, or purchase the Grandvalira Resorts 4 Valleys ski pass, which gives access to both Ordino Arcalís and Grandvalira, meaning you can make the most of the summer season at both resorts. This pass will also allow you to discover the Encamp, Canillo and Soldeu sectors of Grandvalira.
