The route of the "Aigües Tortes" of Siscaró is dominated by mountain pine forests with touches of ilex, aspen and salanque. Before the Siscaró hut (2,145 m) the forest disappears and the area becomes rocky and herbaceous.

In the first section, the mountain pine forest is a good place to hear or see the goldcrest, the smallest bird in Europe. The mammals we find include squirrels and roe deer. From the Siscaró lakes we see the odd marmot on the screes. Siscaró Lake, with a surface area of 1 ha is at an altitude of 2,325 m.
