Vall del Madriu-Perafita_Claror
Located in the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley – which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 – it is built on the old unmanned L’Illa Shelter. It has six rooms that can hold up to 50 people and has all the facilities for this kind of mountain accommodation (bunk beds, mattresses, showers, toilets, etc.). It has a terrace with a bar and restaurant.
You can reach the Illa refuge from the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley or from the Cercle de Pessons in the Civera Valley.
It is also part of the Entrepyr network, a cross-border project that facilitates treks in the Pyrenees by promoting manned shelters in French, Spanish and Andorran territories. Bookings for all affiliated shelters can be made directly through the Entrepyr website.
