Ulteriori informazioni

The Pont d'Engordany is in the centre of the parish of Escaldes and Engordany, between the towns of Escaldes and Engordany. The structure dates back to medieval times, made of pumice stone, and has a semicircular arch. It has a flat, cobbled causeway, and a small parapet runs the entire length of the bridge.

It was first built in 1772 and underwent reconstruction in 1785, when the original structure was destroyed by a great flood. An interesting fact about the bridge is that its ends are asymmetrical, due to the difference in level on both sides of the viaduct.

The Pont d'Engordany bridge crosses the Valira d'Orient river and can be crossed from Avinguda Carlemany or from Camí d'Ensucaranes.

Finally, the bridge also forms part of the Ruta d'Engordany, which is a historical route that takes you through both towns, where you can see the remains of our past first-hand.
