Top 10 cultural attractions in Andorra la Vella

1- Casa de la Vall
The Casa de la Vall was built in the 16th century and presides over Andorra la Vella's old town. An iconic symbol of Andorran politics, it was the seat of the General Council from 1702 to 2011.

It is an old manor house built with local stone and covered with a slate roof, which powerfully embodies traditional Pyrenean architecture. Inside, it contains the old parliament hall, carved woodwork and ancestral coats of arms. On your visit, you can delve into the heart of Andorra's political history and observe architectural elements and objects linked to centuries of governance. To learn more, click here.

2- Espai Columba
Opened to the public in 2018, the Espai Columba was designed to preserve and present 12th-century Romanesque mural paintings, mainly from the Santa Coloma Church.

The space showcases the paintings, liturgical objects and architectural context of the Early Middle Ages, with the aim of reconstructing the medieval artistic and spiritual world of Andorra. To discover more, click here.

3- Bici Lab Andorra
Inaugurated in 2022, the Bici Lab Andorra is the first large museum dedicated to cycling in the country, located in a 1,700 m² space.

The centre exhibits more than a century and a half of the mechanical and historical evolution of the bicycle through the Riberaygua collection, gathered in the 1980s and considered one of the largest in Europe. Its immersive and technological focus makes this a key facility in Andorra's new cultural and tourism strategy. More details here.

4- Andorra la Vella Old Town
The original heart of the capital, the old town, dates back to the 11th century, taking shape around the first granite houses and lanes adapted to the relief of the land.

Between the 16th and 19th centuries, it became an administrative and commercial epicentre, until the modern expansion of Andorra la Vella in the 20th century. Its conservation today contributes to enhancing an urban identity rooted in an authentic Pyrenean legacy.

5- Santa Coloma Church
Built between the 8th and 12th centuries, Santa Coloma Church is one of the oldest Romanesque buildings in Andorra and is renowned for its circular Lombard-style bell tower, the only one of its kind in the Pyrenees.

The mural paintings, made in the 12th century, were removed in the 20th century for restoration and are currently exhibited at the Espai Columba. All in all, the site constitutes an exceptional testimony to medieval spirituality in the valley. For more information, click here.

6- Margineda Bridge
The Margineda Bridge, a masterpiece of 14th-century Romanesque architecture, is the largest preserved historic bridge in Andorra. It is about 33 metres long and 9 metres high, and was once a strategic passing place between valleys.

Near the bridge, there is a contemporary sculpture by the Valencian artist Vicenç Alfaro, created to mark the First Catalan Language and Literature Congress. The combination of the two juxtaposed arches symbolises the past and present of Andorra. Discover more bridges in Andorra here.

7- Parc Central
Since March 2022, the Central Park has hosted the Government Exhibition Hall, a space of around 350-400 m² that hosts temporary exhibitions of national and international contemporary art, which are renewed periodically.

At the same time, the park itself has consolidated its status as an open-air art gallery. In the green areas and on the paths, you can see several contemporary sculptures from the municipality's annual public art competition, which turn the park into a space where nature, architecture and art come together for the visitor's enjoyment. 8- Passeig de les Fonts de la Rotonda
Redeveloped and inaugurated in 2017, the Passeig de les Fonts de la Rotonda promenade is located at Plaça de la Rotonda, near the Salvador Dalí sculpture, between the two main commercial streets in the city, and offers a large, open public space.

Its choreographed fountains and light installations create a unique nighttime show, which began in 2018, transforming the square into a real open-air theatre. Find more information about what days the show is on here.

9- 7 Poets sculpture
Installed in 2014 in front of the General Council, the 7 Poets artwork is inspired by the 7 parishes of Andorra. Its slender figures, placed on ten-metre-high columns, evoke poetry and universal reflection, while fully integrating into the public space.

Every evening, the sculptures are illuminated with changing colors, which also light up the General Council building and transform the square into a spectacle of light and contemplation, making this artwork a contemporary cultural reference and an important attraction in the area. 10- Art al Carrer
Promoted in 2015 by Andorra la Vella Parish Council, the Art al Carrer ('Street Art') programme transforms the city into an open-air museum. Avenues, squares and pedestrian areas become an artistic route that combines sculptures, urban art, light installations and modular creations.

Renewed annually, this project aims to highlight contemporary art in the public space, support local and international creation, and integrate art into everyday life, offering residents and visitors a lively and accessible cultural experience.
