Christmas markets and fairs
Christmas is the most important time of the year for gift-giving. The most famous of all the Christmas fairs is the Santa Llúcia Fair, which traditionally specialises in festive products and takes place on 13th December. The oldest known Santa Llúcia Fair is the one held in Barcelona, which has taken place each year since 1786. For their part, Christmas markets are held all over Europe, and those in central European countries are especially popular and well-known.
Changing habits and customs mean that nowadays, these fairs and markets offer all kinds of gifts, beyond the typical festive decorations and Christmas products.
