The Carnaval de Sant Julià de Lòria fills the parish with celebration, colour and tradition, offering a wide programme of activities for all ages. The festivities include the school parade, the main parade with a float and carnival group competition, fancy-dress dances, creative workshops, children’s shows, and cultural and sporting activities aimed at children and young people.

One of the most anticipated moments is the lowering down, trial and burning of the Carnestoltes, led by the witches and the lauredians ladies and gentlemen, bringing several intense days of popular revelry to a close.

Programme 2026

Friday 13 February
10.15 am. Parade with the schools of Sant Julià de Lòria through the streets of the parish, with entertainment by the batucadas No Ar and Bloco Sambara BCN. Route starting at the French School and ending with celebrations in Plaça de la Germandat.

Saturday 14 February
4 pm. Xtrem Race. Obstacle race in sections combining fun, sport and action, for children aged 8 and over. Afternoon snack for everyone.
Afterwards: Opening proclamation and raising of the Carnestoltes with the witches and the lauredians ladies and gentlemen. All in Plaça de la Germandat.

Sunday 15 February
5 pm. Afternoon dance with Heidi. Foyer of the Centre Cultural Lauredià.

6.30 pm. Main parade featuring Bruixa Tecla and carnival groups of witches, devils, ninotaires, marratxins and porrers, plus the float and group competition. Route ending in Plaça de la Germandat.

8.30 pm. Community botifarrada followed by the fancy-dress dance with Soulstorm Band, and jury deliberation with prize-giving for the competition. Plaça de la Germandat.

Monday 16 February
5 pm. Children’s entertainment show Amb ganes de gresca by the Rikus company, with afternoon snack for everyone.
Afterwards: Lowering down, trial and burning of the Carnestoltes with the witches and the lauredians ladies and gentlemen. Plaça de la Germandat.
