This is a question that many visitors to our country ask. In fact, Andorra doesn’t have an airport, due to its location high up in the mountains. However, there are other possibilities for those who want to travel to the Principality by plane.
The nearest airport is in the Alt Urgell region, south of La Seu d'Urgell, in Lleida. In fact, because it’s so close to our country, its official name is Andorra-La Seu d’Urgell Airport (LEU) This airport is for private flights, but is in the process of adapting to commercial flights. As this airport is in the mountains, its routes are limited to the summer period, when weather conditions are right for taking off and landing aircraft.
Apart from this airport that’s set to grow in the future, Andorra has several international airports within a 125-mile radius. These are Toulouse-Blagnac (TLS) Carcassonne (CCF) Perpignan (PGF) Girona-Costa Brava (GRO) Barcelona-El Prat (BCN) Reus (REU) Alguaire (LEU)
