If you live in Catalonia, and more specifically in the Pyrenean regions of Lleida or Girona, the easiest way of getting to Andorra might be the La Seu to Andorra coach route, run by the company Grup Montmantell, who also operate a number of national routes within Andorra. On this page you can view the most important details of the route, journey times, number of departures, stops and other details of interest.

La Seu, the gateway to Andorra

There's no doubting the strong centuries-old links between Andorra and La Seu d'Urgell. One of our co-princes is its bishop! And today this close relationship also exists in transport: this town in Lleida province is a major gateway to Andorra from Spain, even more so after the boost given to the La Seu-Andorra Airport. For this reason, Grup Montmantell runs the La Seu to Andorra coach route, a cheap and useful option for anyone wanting to reach Andorra by public transport.

What's the La Seu to Andorra coach line like?

The La Seu to Andorra coach line is direct from the town in Lleida province to Andorra’s border, given its proximity (10 km to the border). The departure point is the La Seu d'Urgell bus station, at Avinguda Garriga i Massó, s/n (next to the seminary), the only stop in town.

Once in Andorra, there are a number of stops, first in Sant Julià de Lòria and then in Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany, where the route ends. The stops in the latter towns are: Carrer del Prat Gran, Avinguda Meritxell, Plaça de las Arcades and Avinguda Santa Coloma, ending in Carrer Josep Viladomat, next to the Parc de la Mola and just a short distance from Caldea.

The total journey time is around 45 minutes and there are plenty of departures: 14 a day, except Sundays, when there are 5. Departures are in the morning, afternoon and night. The only days of the year with no service are 25 December and 1 January. For more information on times, prices and online ticket sales, visit the company's official website.

Other options for travelling to Andorra

If you're coming to Andorra from further away, you'll find other alternatives to the La Seu to Andorra coach. One is the coach link to the AVE high-speed train. In this case, you need to travel to the Lleida Pirineus station and transfer to one of the Alsa or Grup Montmantell coaches, which cover the route to Andorra from this Catalan town. Another option is from the El Prat airport.

You'll find more details on this and other ways of getting to the Principality on VisitAndorra, including how to get here by plane or your own vehicle.
