Snowmobiles at Vallnord

One of the most fun winter activities you can try is snowmobiling in Andorra. Vallnord offers you the chance to try it out at both Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís. Here you’ll find details about this exciting experience as well as the chance to book a session. Feel the adrenaline rush as you speed along in one of these special vehicles!

What is snowmobiling?

There are two ways to enjoy snowmobiling in Andorra. The first is to follow a trail with a trained professional snowmobile driver. Depending on the type you choose, they can take one or two people with them at a time. This option is great for those have never ridden a vehicle like this before or who don’t have the confidence to drive. The second option available at Vallnord is to rent a snowmobile without a driver. The user needs to have certain skills controlling this type of vehicle, but no special license is necessary, a normal driving licence is enough. The user will follow a particular circuit, properly marked out with all the safety measures you’ll need. Some times you can even try snowmobiling at night by moonlight.

Where can I do this activity in Vallnord?

The two ski resorts that make up Vallnord (Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís) both offer the chance to enjoy snowmobile routes. In the case of Pal Arinsal, which is less than 2 miles from Escaldes-Engordany and 3 miles from the capital, Andorra la Vella, the activity is carried out in the Planell area, next to the arrival point of the cable car in La Massana and the Coll de la Botella sector. As for Ordino Arcalís, located 8 miles from Ordino and 13 miles from Andorra la Vella, the activity is carried out in the Hortell area.

Other interesting information about this activity

To drive this vehicle, you need to be 18 or older and hold a driver’s licence. Minors above the age of 6 may ride as passengers behind the driver. Various rental durations can be booked: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours (depending on the resort). As for the time, at both resorts, snowmobile activities begin at 6 p.m., once the slopes are closed.

Children’s snowmobiles:

For the youngest family members, Vallnord-Pal Arinsal offers a children’s mini snowmobile circuit, where kids can ride their own snowmobile around the route set by the centre. This activity is for children over 3 or 4 years.

Apart from snowmobiles, Vallnord also offers other activities you can do on some unique vehicles. There are the Gicafer, an all-terrain snowcat, with theme outings and night-time excursions in groups, accompanied by a guide. The original snow bikes are another option, and if you want to combine skiing with paragliding, you can book a Speedride session.
