Night-time activities at Vallnord

At Vallnord Pal-Arinsal the days are longer, thanks to the range of night-time activities the sector has to offer. There are a number of different options and ways to enjoy the snow at night – some of them quite unusual!

Activities at Vallnord-Pal Arinsal

A laid-back option is yoga at an altitude of 2,200 metres, at Coll de la Botella restaurant, comprising a one-hour class of Kundalini yoga followed by a healthy, organic dinner. Or for something a little livelier, you could take a zumba class at the same restaurant, followed by an exquisite dinner. The zumba class is guided by an instructor and lasts for an hour; the workout is high-energy and offers a friendly atmosphere for those who attend. The classes are held on certain days during the ski season and run from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., with dinner being served at 9:00 p.m. Finally you can also learn how to prepare your own gourmet menu in an “express cooking” class with Chef Carles Flinch. The class starts at 6:00 p.m. and is held at the same restaurant. To get to the restaurant by car, take the CG4 road until you get to Coll de la Botella.

As if all this weren’t enough, Vallnord-Pal Arinsal also offers delicious dinners under the stars, like the “dinners under the full moon” at Pla de la Cot Ski & Lounge, or you can even try the delicious dishes on the menu at the Xalet Igloo restaurant in the Arinsal sector. You can get to these two restaurants either on our Retrack snowcat or, if you are feeling adventurous, via a snowshoeing or ski mountaineering route!

If you'd like a ride in the snowcat without going to the restaurant, night-time snowcat excursions are available at the resort, either in our Snow Retrack or the Snow Cabine. The Snow Cabine is smaller than the Snow Retrack and takes you on a shorter route. This activity is a chance to see the resort from another perspective and find out how the slopes are made perfectly smooth for the next day’s skiers!

Activities at Vallnord-Ordino Arcalís

Meanwhile, Vallnord-Ordino Arcalís offers the option of eating at the resort's most iconic restaurant, known for its fondues, grilled meat and mountain rice dishes: La Borda de la Coma!

There are three ways to get there. The first option is to climb onto a giant sled, totally exposed to the elements, and be pulled up the slope until you reach to the restaurant (please remember to wrap up warm for this activity). The second is to go for a ride in the Gica, a snowcat with an enclosed, heated cabin. Otherwise, if you are a ski mountaineering or snowshoeing fan, don’t miss the opportunity to climb to the restaurant while doing what you love the most! If you choose the last option, you'll need to let the restaurant know and follow the route indicated by the resort.

Finally, at Arcalís, you can try the most daredevil night-time activity of all: the “Vivac Experience”! You'll go on a snowshoeing or ski mountaineering expedition up to one of the resort’s summits. Once you arrive, you'll set up your tent for the night.
