Andorra la Vella
Andorra la Vella
Dia 1 6 activities
Although Andorra la Vella is the capital of the Principality, it’s not your typical big city. The entertainment and tourism offering is up to par with more urban destinations, but the feeling here is of absolute peace and tranquillity and you only need to look up to appreciate the mountain views. You can spend the morning strolling through the historic district. You will discover very interesting spots like the Casa de Vall, an iconic building that dates back to the late 16th century. Until a few years ago it housed the Andorra General Council, and is well worth a visit.
It’s almost lunch time, so you can choose one of the cute restaurants in Andorra la Vella centre. Take the opportunity to try some traditional dishes and recharge your batteries for an afternoon of shopping on the popular Meritxell and Carlemany avenues. It's a great time to discover the city's more cultural side. If you like art, the Thyssen Museum is not to be missed, with pieces from some of the leading artistic movements of the 19th and 20th centuries: French Impressionism, Cubism, Catalan Modernism, etc. Also of interest is the Escaldes-Engordany Arts Centre (CAEE), featuring the work of Catalan sculptor Josep Viladomat, among other collections.
When the sun is about to go down, it’s time for some relaxation. There’s no better plan than the Caldea Spa Centre. If you’re looking to disconnect, this is the best place to do so, with a range of different spaces designed to relax the mind and body. Afterwards you can have dinner in Caldea and put the finishing touch on the night by going out for cocktails in Andorra La Vella centre.
