The Challenge: 5 ponds, 7 routes
Do you want to get in on a new mountain challenge? "Feda Cultura" offers nature lovers an excursion full of adventures and novelties that you surely do not know yet.
Climb up to the five ponds between the Madriu and Valira d’Orient Valleys, natural ponds with hydraulic dams: Illa, Juclà, Cabana Sorda, Vall del Riu and Engolasters. You will find all roads are well-marked and easy to access, with the option to stay in places where you can find shelters, whether they have staff or are open. The itinerary will allow you to discover how the hydraulic dam functions and its purpose. Seven different routes are on offer: some short and easy, others longer and more challenging.
Once you have reached all five ponds, you will receive an official diploma and a gift ribbon for completing the challenge of the water dams. All you have to do is take a picture at each pond with its identifying totem, post it to Instagram with the hashtag #mursdaigua and pick it up at the MW Electricity Museum.
Finally, if you'd prefer a more intense experience, don't miss out on the Cercle d’Aigua challenge put together especially for you by Feda Cultura! You'll visit the same five natural lakes described here, adding in an overnight stay in the high-mountain refuges marked and in the tourist accommodation of your choosing! This time, though, you'll complete the challenge in various stages.
