Start at the National Coach Station, where you will soon find the track after a section of road that takes you up to the La Comella refreshment stop. From there, climb alongside the Riu de La Comella up to the Refuge at Prat Primer, which dominates its small circus and from which you will see Collada de Prat Primer, which you now head for. From the pass, riding alongside Estany de Basses Roges, you will soon come to the Claror Refuge, which dominates the valley of the same name.

From there, retrace your route a few metres to follow the GRP, marked in red and yellow, which climbs consistently the Coll Negre, almost up Pic Negre, the highest point of the route. From the summit take the wide, flat path that allows you go proceed at speed to a scree on the right which you will descend through, first through loose rock and stone and then through alpine meadow, back to the Refugi at Prat Primer. This time, leave the Refuge on your right and follow the obvious path which takes you on a level stretch to Collada de la Caülla, a good spot to look out over the area of the border with Catalonia.

From the pass, continue to descend until you meet boulders, where you will rejoin the GRP which will take you to Coll de Palomera. From the col, you just have to descend on an obvious path back to the start.
