MTB Trail 50 Andorra la Vella - La Comella

Location and contact

11 km

Height difference

+580 m / -580 m

This 11 km mountain bike route with 580 m in elevation difference is of high difficulty.

It is a circular route that leaves from the community car park next to the new justice building. There you will find the Tobira roundabout, where we will begin our ascent to La Comella, on the road of the same name. It is a road section with a slope of between 7 and 8% that brings us to a picnic area highly recommended for families. Here we enter the Vall del Madriu on the Camí de Prat Primer after going a few more metres on asphalt. This forest trail will bring us to the highest part of the route. We recommend spending some time taking in the magnificent views at the lookout points you will see on the way up, like the Bosc Negre, a good place for a water break before the last push up to the highest point of the route, at 1,550 m of elevation.

This is where the forest path ends, and although we will see that the Camí de la Palomera continues up, our ascent finishes here, at the sign pointing to the beginning of the much anticipated descent.

The first part is the most natural and fun, with a two metre wide trail for practically the entire descent and some areas with roots and loose stones to make it a bit more interesting. We also have some sections of forest paths that are quite entertaining and extremely enjoyable. After this part of the descent we will connect with a trail that 4x4 vehicles can also use. We continue along this trail, always watching out for vehicles coming up the hill, until we cross the Deixalleria Industrial and rejoin the La Comella road that we came up at the beginning of the route. In this case we will continue downhill on the road to the end of the route, at the same place it began. You will finish the route in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Suitable for mountain biking and E-bike.
