11 km

Height difference

+678 m / -678 m

This circular route, which is 11 km long and features 680 m total change in elevation, starts and ends at the same place, the bottom station of gondola lift TC8 located at an altitude of 1800 m in car park 1 in the Soldeu sector of the Grandvalira ski resort.

From here, it starts a climb along one of the busiest ski slopes during the winter season: Gall de Bosc. It is a continuous ascent, so we recommend taking a few breaks to enjoy the incredible wooded landscape that you are leaving behind and will go through again as you descend. Once you reach the end of the Gall de Bosc slope, you’ll be at the highest point on mountain bike route 11, at 2800 m, where you’ll find a flat area, a beginners’ slope in the winter.  A bit further up is the Riba Escorxada refuge, in case you want to make a final push and visit it. Going back to the flat area where the beginners’ slope is, note that this is one of the places where you have to pay the most attention to the signs and your GPS, as you’re going to start the descent to Tarter along a ski slope that links up with Esquirol, but only for a few metres.

Look carefully for the Centre BTT Andorra (Andorra MTB Centre) symbol, which is on the left-hand side of the slope. After that, all you have to do is begin to enjoy the 72 downward curves amidst the woods of Obac del Tarter. This is a spectacular descent totally on paths and trails, so that you can enjoy the scenery uninterrupted. Those who love a good descent can really let off the adrenaline built up on the initial climb!

After the descent, you’ll begin to head back to the car park at the Tarter resort along a route full of ups and downs that you’ll enjoy until the very last moment.

Once you’ve reached the car park at Tarter resort, continue the route to Soldeu along a ski slope running across Gall de Bosc, which will take you back to the starting point of mountain bike route 11, ready to enjoy the cuisine nearby and recharge your batteries after this wonderful pure mountain bike route!

The route takes 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete. Suitable for mountain biking and e-bikes.
