The Sorteny Valley Nature Park offers unique interest from a scientific, historical and educational, as well as aesthetic, landscape and recreational point of view. The Sorteny Valley Nature Park, despite having a limited area of 1,080 hectares, is key in the preservation of biodiversity and, beyond our borders, in the conservation of the natural and cultural heritage of the Pyrenees.

This alternative circuit is the best option if you want to enjoy the unique flora and fauna of the area without missing out on thost typical high-mountain panoramic views. Once you’ve walked the interpretive trails in the Sorteny Valley Nature Park and visited its fascinating botanic garden, we recommend continuing along the path that goes up, from the refuge, towards the Quer plateau, where you’ll find incredible views from both sides of the Sorteny and Rialb valleys.

On the Quer plateau, you’ll find directions to the Grau de la Llosa viewpoint, a rest area with wooden and iron hammocks that are ideal for enjoying the landscapes offered up by nature.

Although you may be a little tired towards the end of the route, the return trip is not at all complicated: simply go back down towards La Rabassa and you’ll arrive directly at the car park.

For your safety, we recommend doing all routes above 1700 metres between the end of June and the end of September. Weather and terrain conditions permitting, however, the season can run from May to October.

You’ll find more details about this and other routes in the Trails of Andorra Hiking Guide.
