This easy route along flat terrain follows the Camí Ral (Royal Road) running from La Massana to Andorra la Vella. It is perfect for a leisurely family stroll to enjoy the fresh river air of the Valira d'Orient. It is also an ideal choice for hiking novices.

Before setting out, you can leave your vehicle at the Prat del Molí car park.

Head along the road – the old Camí Ral – to the Camí de les Gravades, which takes you to the new Camí Ral for pedestrians. The Valira d'Orient River will be your constant companion on this royal road, along which you will meet both fellow hikers and cyclists. The last section runs through the area of Moles d'Anyós before reaching the Church of Sant Antoni de la Grella, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink from its fountain. From there, the trail takes you over the Romanesque Bridge of Sant Antoni de la Grella to a chapel also dedicated to Saint Anthony, at which point you can turn round to follow the same route back to the Prat del Molí car park.

If you want to extend your hike, at the Chapel of Sant Antoni you can continue down the path to the Sant Ermengol Plateau, where it joins the Camí Ral d'Andorra la Vella. This extra section adds around 30 minutes to your journey time.

The route starts at the car park in the parish of La Massana (42º 30' 47.8938", 1º 31' 46.5054").

For your safety, we recommend doing all routes above 1700 metres between the end of June and the end of September. Weather and terrain conditions permitting, however, the season can run from May to October.

You'll find more details about this and other routes in the Trails of Andorra Hiking Guide.
