The Camí del Riu Blanc path connects the centre of Encamp with the Engolasters Lake. This beautiful path takes a bit more than an hour and passes by the Cresper hut before entering the red pine forest that surrounds the parish.
The path starts at the foot of the general road 2, at the car museum, where a cobbled path begins with signs indicating the Camí d'Engolasters i del Riu Blanc path. Once past the orchards, cross the Riu Blanc where the path climbs up towards the Engolasters Lake. Follow the path along the GR11 and ascend little by little passing the Cresper hut from where the pine forest grows thicker until the end of the path.
Once on foot from the Pardines forest trail, you can approach the Engolasters Lake by following the trail to the right. Around the lake you can discover part of the country's history of the country, such as the installation of the Andorra Radio antennas and the construction of a dam for the Andorran Hydroelectric Forces (FHASA), which was inaugurated in 1934.
For your safety, we recommend doing all routes above 1700 metres between the end of June and the end of September. Weather and terrain conditions permitting, however, the season can run from May to October.
You'll find more details about this and other routes in the Trails of Andorra Hiking Guide.
