We will go up by car to km 8 of the road to els Cortals d’Encamp (CS-220), where we see a rock wall. At this point, we will begin to walk along a path which drops down towards the Deveses River and we follow this path eastwards until we come to a Tibetan bridge, which we cross. We carry on to the right following the track and after a short while we come to a signpost that tells us we have reached the Campeà Forest.

This forest, in the shady area of els Cortals d’Encamp, is an open forest of mountain pine with an undergrowth rich in whortleberry and snow rose. Along the path that crosses the forest we will find a garden of wildflowers and at the end of an esplanade we come to the Fonts del Campeà springs. Protected species live in this forest such as the wood grouse, the black woodpecker and the Pyrenean owl. The way back starts gently downwards to a picnic site. We continue along the forest track turning to the right and passing the Orris plain to the Tibetan bridge.

The route starts at the els Cortals rocodrome, shortly after km 8 of the secondary highway to els Cortals CS-220, in the parish of Encamp (42° 32' 19",01° 37' 50").

For your safety, we recommend you do the routes at altitudes of over 1,700 metres between the end of June and the end of September. However, if the weather and terrain conditions allow it, the season may extend from May to October.

You will find further details of this and other routes in the Hiking guide Trails of Andorra.
