We will start at the village of Encamp, in Plaça dels Arínsols. From this point, we will take the GR11 (marked with two horizontal stripes, one white and one red) eastwards along the main track (the former track before roads existed). The cobbled path will take us to the Les Bons historical complex and the Romanesque church of Sant Romà (12th century). Further on we will come to a sign to la Borda de les Comes and the coll d’Ordino, which we will follow. We will zigzag up to a point where the paths cross. We continue towards the Coll d’Ordino and go into the la Tossa Forest, a habitat for birds such as the goldcrest and the coal tit, and mammals such as the fox and the pine marten.

We will cross the Planell de les Basses, a woody area, to reach the Coll d’Ordino pass with magnificent views of the Alt del Griu and Arinsal Valley. We will continue southwards and after about 2 km we come to el Bony de les Neres, the end of our route. We can go back the way we came or follow the GR11 to the village of Ordino, in which case we will need an additional vehicle.

The route starts at Plaça dels Arínsols, in front of the Encamp Commune in the parish of Encamp (42° 32' 10",01° 35' 00").

For your safety, we recommend you do the routes at altitudes of over 1,700 metres between the end of June and the end of September. However, if the weather and terrain conditions allow it, the season may extend from May to October.

You will find further details of this and other routes in the Hiking guide Trails of Andorra
