The name evokes a world of water, waterfalls, violets and insectivorous plants. The hike takes you through grandiose thousand-year-old fir forests, giving you the sensation of having entered a fantasy world where water nymphs may appear at any moment.
It is also a great place for listening to the song of the Eurasian wren (Troglodytes troglodytes), the song thrush (Turdus philomelos) and the goldcrest (Regulus regulus), along with many other birds. Close to this forest, along the Pla de l'Estany river, you can try to spot one of the Reserve's most fascinating amphibians: the Pyrenean brook salamander or Pyrenean newt (Calotriton asper).
