High route to the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria, through the la Rabassa woods in the area of Naturlandia.

We start the route at an altitude of 2000 metres at the Naturlandia adventure park (we can also start from 1600 metres, following the main road until its end). We follow the dirt track that is just by the Tobotronc exit, and we enter into La Rabassa woods until we reach Pimes hill. At this height, the trees tends to thin out because of the altitude.

Then, we take the other side of the mountain, and continue ascending towards the Pic Negre de Claror, a demanding climb, but one with views over the Cadi mountain range and the forests of the Lles and Aransa area on one side. On the other lie all the peaks that border Catalonia, as well as the valley of the Madriu (Monturull, Perafita, etc).

In the final part of the ascent, the terrain becomes more arid and with stones of a black colour, that seem to have come from another planet. The views from the summit are spectacular from the Cadí to the Aragonese Pyrenees, and obviously a good part of Andorra and an exceptional balcony over much of the Vall de Madriu Natural Park, with Claror and Perafita as the closest points.

We go back down the route we climbed, paying special attention to the brakes! Once at Pima hill again, we follow the track on the right, which climbs steeply. Soon we pass by the Pimes refuge and we can finish by descending the Nordic skiing slopes (in winter) to our starting point at the Naturlandia station.

If we start the route at 1600 m in Naturlandia, we can go down the path that passes under the Tobotronc. We take this road, 200 metres away, to the station car park, at the 2000 m contour.
