It is an easy route that takes around hours and has a length of almost 5km.

The Tomb de Canya de la Rabassa al Pla de Sorteny stroll follows a section of interpretation paths of the Vall de Sorteny Nature Park, giving us details of the valley’s local flora and fauna. The hiking route starts at the information hut at the entrance to the Sorteny Nature Park. From here we take the forest track, ignoring the GRP to Serrat, and go along the river on the Grau de la Llosa path until we leave the forest track once more at a botanical garden with 300 species of local plants.

We continue until the path begins to l’Estanyó peak and lake. At this point we will take the Ornithological Route (marked with arrows and birds). The route crosses the river and goes past the Borda de Sorteny hut. After a dry stone wall, it connects with the GRP until the path to la Pine marten, which goes into the forest and drops down the forest track taking us back to the car park.

The route starts at the Canya de la Rabassa car park, at point 42° 37' 34",1° 33' 6".

For your safety, we recommend you do the routes at altitudes of over 1,700 metres between the end of June and the end of September. However, if the weather and terrain conditions allow it, the season may extend from May to October.

You will find further details of this and other routes in the Hiking guide Trails of Andorra.
