Guided Ecotourism route: Circ glacial de Tristaina

Guided ecotourism: circ glacial de tristaina

When the snow melts away, Tristaina glacial cirque is transformed into one of Andorra's most stunning beauty spots.

In this interpretative path you can observe the Merens fault, discover the typical flora of the area and, with a little luck, catch sight of one of the most charming inhabitants of the high mountain areas, the stoat (Mustela erminea), a small carnivorous mammal (20-30 cm) who is quite at home in the stony ground.

It is an ideal route for families, where you can touch the snow in the height of summer. Encompassing three lakes and Tristaina Peak, Tristaina glacial cirque lies 2500 m above sea level, offering visitors the chance to discover a landscape of immense natural diversity. The route takes in Tristaina's three lakes: Estany Primer, the smallest of the three; Estany del Mig and Estany de Més Amunt, which is the largest of the three and the second largest in all of Andorra. Don't be surprised to see people fishing for trout.
