Encamp is the parish that borders with France, and is the third biggest by number of inhabitants.

Located to the northeast of the Principality, it is divided into two major towns 25 km apart: Encamp and El Pas de la Casa. Other towns include Vila, Les Bons, La Mosquera and El Tremat.

When you leave Encamp towards France, you will find the Funicamp, a cable-car on two cables that gives direct access to the Grandvalira ski resort. During the rest of the year, it is a good place for practising outdoor sports such as fishing, climbing and hiking. Two popular routes are the circular Camí de l’Ossa route and the Camí de Les Pardines route, suitable for all levels, which leads to Lake Engolasters.

Aside from being the border crossing with France, Pas de la Casa is an important commercial centre, with a wide choice of restaurants, hotels and apartments at the foot of the slopes of Grandvalira.

We recommend you visit the National Automobile Museum, the Casa Cristo Ethnographic Museum, the MW Museum of Electricity (located on the outskirts of Escaldes-Engordany) and the old town of Les Bons.
